Meta Expands Muse Agent Across Glasses, Apps and Services

Meta is extending Muse from a standalone personal agent into a cross-device assistant with new connectors, computer control and wearable access.

Meta used its Connect keynote to broaden Muse from a newly launched personal agent into a platform spanning glasses, computers, messaging and third-party services. The company said Muse will reach its AI glasses, gain a dedicated email address and support computer use on Mac, allowing it to operate applications with permission even after the user leaves the machine.

The expansion also adds a wider connector network. Meta listed Shopify, Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Wayfair, Expedia, Instacart, Notion, GitHub and Box among the services being added or planned, alongside Shop Pay and PayPal for transactions. The strategy is clear: Muse is being positioned less as a conversational interface and more as a persistent operator with access to a user’s commercial, communication and productivity accounts.

Meta is also introducing a physical companion called Muse Charm and bringing Muse to glasses, where it can respond to objects in view, such as products, signs or shopping lists. That creates a more immediate interface, but also increases the sensitivity of the data the system must interpret.

The significance is strategic rather than merely feature-based. Meta is trying to use its enormous consumer distribution, social graph and hardware footprint to make an agent habitual before competitors establish the default. The unresolved question is whether users will grant an agent enough access to become useful while retaining confidence in its approvals, audit trail and handling of mistakes.
